Time flies and here we are at the end of this March. As we mentioned before, March symbolizes a new beginning and the conclusion of Q1. In this March, we have learned more fresh insights of new trendy colors and designs from various fashion events. However, there was one pivotal event in this month for apparel professionals: The Intertextile Shanghai 2025.
As a premier textile exhibition, Intertextile (which concluded on March 13th) usually serves as a barometer for emerging fabrics innovations and design directions- critical intelligence for industry players to stay competitive. This year's edition proved no exception.

Arabella will guide you walking through the key highlights at this event together, whether you attended or not. At the same time, in case you might miss something new, we still keep our old tradition this time updating you more flash news in clothing industry.
Exhibitions & Events
During Intertextile Shanghai SS 2025 from March 11th to 13th, the exhibition showcased the 5 most cutting-edge sourcing trends as below:
1. Sustainability Permeation
There are more exhibitors starting permeating sustainability into product manufacturing and finishing. For example, by using the “post-finishing then dyeing” process, combined with fully recycled biodegradable yarns and bio-based accessories, they create “irreplaceable” eco-friendly fabrics. By utilizing Europe’s low-energy, rapid eco-dyeing technology, the suppliers introduce washed-out vintage corduroy, reducing water consumption while enhancing color fastness.
2. Fabric Functions & Innovations are commonly required
Functional fabrics with moisture-wicking, anti-bacterial, cooling, and UV-protective properties are shifting from extra value to essential demands, while becoming more tailored to specific activities.
3. Slight Trends toward Outdoor Performance
Demand for outdoor performance fabrics is evolving from traditional waterproof and windproof features to lightweight, multifunctional, and versatile designs.
4. Interest-Driven E-Commerce & Social Media Procurement Mode
E-commerce platforms are integrating into supply chains, driving demand for just-in-time manufacturing and one-stop sourcing.

5. More Precise & High-end Global Collaboration
Benefiting from the visa-free policy, this exhibition saw a notable increase in overseas attendee, with surging demand for premium fabrics (wool, silk) and technical collaborations.
Apart from these, the China Textile Fabrics Trend Forum S/S 2026 was successfully hold at the exhibition, too. The forum anchored in the China Textile Fabrics Trends S/S 2026 research, by systematically analyzing the evolution logic of fashion trends, it adopts a forward-looking perspective to address the underlying demands of consumer markets and the future fashion ecosystem.
As an activewear & athleisure manufacturer, Arabella’s R&D team deeply knows that the evolving of fabric trend is crucial for our clients. And we keep our passion on developing new designs combining with market trends. Maybe this time, you can see more of our new designs reflecting ideas we were inspired from this event.

Fibers
(March 21st) Hefei LifeBio Tech and Shanghai Develon New Materials jointly launched BioFleax™ PEF fiber, a 100% bio-based solution. With PET-like molecular structure, it delivers high-thermal stability, toughness, UV-protection and anti-bacterial properties, and moisture-wicking performance while reducing production power. Fully PET-recycling compatible, it offers textiles a sustainable high-performance alternative.

Fabrics
(March 20th) Toray Industries, Inc. announced it will apply ISCC-certified mass balance production to its acrylic fiber production, sourcing raw materials derived from biomass and plastic waste. This approach will enable Toray to deliver high-value-added TORAYLON™ while enhancing environmental sustainability.

New Collection Released by Top Activewear Behemoth
In this week, running wear still rules the new collection of top activewear brands. But the color tone changes. It keeps mild but bolder, and yellow seems to be a good representative. Coming the end of March, it might represent the start of early summer collection.
From our point of view, the running wear boom might gradually cool down in the following and will make a way for for summer swimwear and gym wear. Arabella will keep this channel updating to see what our pioneer brands will bring for our summer.
Also, if you would like to customize your own gym wear and become one of them, here are some blank styles we recommend for you!
