On Oct 15th, Decathlon has invested in the 3D weaving technology project of technology innovation company Unspun and signed a long-term procurement contract with it (until 2030). 3D knitting technology can quickly produce clothing in one step, significantly reducing and improving textile production efficiency.

Fabrics

Italian materials innovation company Thermore has developed an ultra-thin insulation material: Invisiloft. The main advantage of this material is that it is smaller than other traditional insulation materials while still providing warmth, compressibility and lightweight properties for high-performance outdoor sportswear. Additionally, the material is made from 100% recycled fiber from post-consumer PET bottles and is GRS certified. The material is suitable for regular washing and dry cleaning, ensuring easy maintenance and long-lasting durability.

Fibers

Lenzing announced the acquisition of a minority stake in Swedish cellulose fiber materials company TreeToTextile and planned to cooperate with the company to develop future renewable fibers. TreeToTextile was founded in 2014 by Swedish entrepreneur Lars Stigsson, H&M Group and Inter IKEA Group to develop and commercialize a more sustainable production process for man-made cellulose fibers.
